Android 4.0 a.k.a Ice Cream Sandwich Coming in Q4 2011

Google has officially announced the next version of Android OS, Ice-Cream Sandwich at the Google I/O event held at Moscone West, San Francisco. The Ice-Cream Sandwich is codenamed as Android 4.0, which is a combination of both Android Honeycomb and Gingerbread OS.

Ice-Cream Sandwich aka Android 4.0 will be available for all Android devices including smartphone and tablets. Although, by saying All Android devices that does not mean HTC G1 will be able to run this OS or not? Google said that We are jointly announcing that devices from our partner will receive update for 18months as long as the hardware allows. Some of the new features that were added to this OS includes face-tracking and camera focus shifting based on voice recognition.

Google has decided to launch this universal OS later this year in Q4, most probably we will see devices running Ice-Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) in later 2011 or in the beginning of 2012.
