All tech enthusiast running A5 based device like iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G have already upgraded to iOS 6, and were waiting eagerly for an untethered jailbreak to release for iOS 6.0 and iOS 6.1. Popular iOS developer, Planetbeing has recently tweeted that he has able to “Made some nice progress today with @pod2g.” Pod2g is another iOS security researcher who is working together with Planetbeing to make a working iOS 6 jailbreak running on all A5 based devices.
According to a new tweet on Twitter by Planetbeing and Pod2g, stated that they are working on the final version of jailbreak for iOS 6.
“Made some nice progress today with @pod2g. I think I’ll try to reward myself with a nap.”
“@planetbeing oh yeah! 2 new vulnerabilities in a day, chance was with us.But we still miss that initial code execution for a public jb: /”
After months of release of iOS6 and iPhone 5, everyone is waiting eagerly to jailbreak their device on iOS 6. Last year, Pod2g in JailbreakCon stated that he had some “partial injection data” that will help developer to jailbreak iOS 6. And if Apple had not patched that vulnerability then one can have a full jailbreak device running on iOS 6. Even, Planetbeing confirmed that he is using a working iOS 6 jailbreak running on his Apple iPhone 5.
From the latest tweet we assume that developers are missing initial code execution for a public jailbreak. From last few years it has become really very difficult to jailbreak especially on newer devices like iPhone 4, iPhone 5.
Apple is on the verge to announce iOS 6.1 very soon and developer team will prefer to wait for iOS 6.1 to come before releasing any tool to untether a device on iOS 6.0. Until untethered jailbreak will be released, those who are waiting eagerly to jailbreak their idevices can jailbreak using tethered tools that are available in the market. The tethered version requires user to plug their device to a computer running on either Redsn0w or Sn0wbreeze tool to boot the device into a jailbroken state.
We at TechDistinct would strongly recommend to wait until untethered jailbroken tool is released for iOS 6 and for upcoming iOS 6.1. Meanwhile subscribe to TechDistinct for updates on this topic.
