According to an article in Wall Street Journal, both Apple and Google are tracking the mobile activities of users, without them knowing anything about it. Both, the iPhone and mobile phones on Android, are secretly transferring data such as the location of a user, and other parameters about the phone that is being used. All the data is then encrypted and stored in databases.
This information has been tracked since many months. Although it is being said that the data shall be used for development purposes only, such as enhancing maps, it is a cause of wonder that both, Apple and Android have indulged in such a way to get hold of users’ information secretly, without the knowledge of the user himself. Both the companies have so far not issued any statements related to this issue of violating users’ privacy.
