Apple Releases iTunes 10.5 Beta 9 for developers

Today Apple has rolled out another beta version of iTunes, iTunes 10.5 beta 9 for developers. These new beta version is dedicated for developers to test the Music Match and iOS 5 features. iTunes 10.5 beta 9 has Music Match feature which is currently not working properly or it is not fully enabled and because of it some songs are not recognizable on the Apple iTunes store.Apple Releases iTunes 10.5 Beta 9 for developers

The Music Match feature of iTunes was first launched during WWDC event and it is one of the major components that will constitute or forms the Apple iCloud product. When you download this beta version and install it, you will be able to see a tab in the iTunes, which is especially dedicated for the Music Match feature.

The Music Match feature will allow you to scan your library and if the music is found on the Apple’s database then the song is simply added or uploaded else the default artwork is preserved.

This beta version costs $24.99/yr although it is still in beta version but the developer will get this for free to try for a period of three months.Apple Releases iTunes 10.5 Beta 9 for developers

Here is the official keynote for the iTunes 10.5 Beta 9 Release:

  • iTunes 10.5 beta 9 includes several performance enhancements and bug fixes, and is a required update for all subscribers to iTunes Match beta.
  • Your iCloud libraries will be deleted at the end of this beta.
  • Backup regularly and do not delete the music you add to iCloud from your computer. Apple
  • May periodically delete all iCloud libraries during the beta period. This will require you to scan, match, and upload songs again.
  • Also note that some of the features and optimizations of iTunes Match may not be available during this beta.

    It’s on! Now I await the google release, their own app to counter itunes..
